Advancing fashion by confronting injustices harming us all.

Working for a fashion system that upholds total ethics, by prioritising the life and wellbeing of our fellow animals, people and the planet we share.

Fashion is a way of expression. We all wear clothes and say something to the world in what we choose to clothe ourselves in. It’s time our choices reflect what we really want for our shared planet.

For too long, conversations around improving fashion have been tunnel-visioned by looking at only one pillar of justice, be it environmental, humanitarian, or anti-speciesist. Our mission is to combat all three key injustices together.

The most effective way to move beyond injustices in the fashion industry is by primarily addressing fashion’s animal-derived product supply chains, which at once harm humans, our fellow animals and the planet. We work to uproot and justly transition beyond these harms through recognition of their shared core: the prioritisation of profit over life.

The issues

For all there is to love about fashion, there are plenty of problems to be solved in the industry creating it. Here, we outline some of the most serious issues taking place in the fashion industry today. By sharing information, both the fashion industry and consumers can consider their contribution to these problems, and how we can work together to create positive change.

Total ethics material guide

The materials we choose to design and dress ourselves with matter enormously to the wellbeing of our planet and all those who live on it. Understanding the impact of different materials on our climate, biodiversity, land, water, people and our fellow animals is critical to creating a total ethics fashion system which benefits us all.
